Climbing
At Warwick Mountains, we have a strong climbing core to our society. Whilst this is mostly focused at the indoor climbing wall on campus, with bouldering, top roping and lead, some of us also take our skills to the great outdoors and engage in trad climbing.

If the weather and location allows, we sometimes go climbing! This necessitates having a suitable Walk Leader, who is able to lead a route, as well as having the required climbing gear. Please be aware that suitable weather may involve quite cold temperatures/ snow/ wind, and so items like a belay jacket and warmer gloves might be useful as trad climbing involves spending around half the time belaying. You are required to bring a helmet (which can be borrowed) and harness (which can sometimes be borrowed), and items like a belay device (which can take double ropes) are useful.
If you are interested, please contact our Advanced Skills Officer.
There is also a weekly club climb in the sports center, for more information please contact our Captain.
