Walk Leaders and Drivers

Our Walk Leaders organise the various walks on offer on each of our trips; without them, the club couldn't run.

All of our leaders have a wealth of outdoor knowledge and experience to ensure that you have an enjoyable, safe day out on the hills and mountains of the UK.

They have all completed at least the training part of the Summer or Easter  Mountain Leader (ML) qualification, and are qualified outdoor first aiders.

Each year there is the opportunity to become one of our walk leaders, depending on your experience. More information is usually made available at the start of Term 2.

Drivers are also key to the club, allowing us to travel (by car, minibus,, van) all across the UK.

New club drivers are always welcome each year; if you have held a full UK (or EU) driving licence for at least 2 years and are over the age of 21, then you can register to drive university minibuses. A safe driving lecture and minibus practical driving assessment must be completed.

If you are yet 21, you can only drive the people carriers or van. Again a practical driving assessment must be completed.

Talk to a member of the Exec if you are interested.
